Job Summary
The Store Supervisor - Supermarket is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the supermarket to ensure a smooth, efficient, and customer-friendly environment. This role involves managing staff, maintaining inventory levels, ensuring excellent customer service, and resolving day-to-day operational challenges. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of leading a team to achieve store objectives. The ideal candidate should also be comfortable working on their feet.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead and support supermarket staff, ensuring efficient scheduling and a productive work environment.
- Maintain high customer satisfaction by addressing concerns and resolving issues promptly.
- Assist with inventory processes, including receiving, merchandising, and maintaining stock levels.
- Ensure the supermarket is clean, safe, and organized, and manage equipment and cash handling procedures.
- Assist with in-store promotions and monitor sales performance to drive revenue.
- Prepare reports on sales, inventory, and employee performance, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Address operational challenges quickly and collaborate with other departments to enhance store efficiency.
- Foster a positive work environment, conduct performance reviews, and support staff development.
- Abide by and enforce the employee handbook and disciplinary code of the company.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualification & Skills Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in business, management, or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a retail or supermarket environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent customer service skills and a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Proficiency with point-of-sale systems, inventory management software, and basic computer applications.
