Job Summary
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse, including minimizing and reporting losses and damages, as well as managing inventory. The ideal candidate is comfortable working on their feet and in a fast-paced environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise the warehouse team to ensure a productive, efficient, organized, and safe working environment.
- Manage the receiving, inspection, and organization of goods from suppliers, ensuring proper storage to prevent damage or loss; oversee the delivery process to customers, while maintaining accuracy at all times.
- Ensure all stock is stored in the correct locations within the warehouse.
- Conduct physical inventory counts, implement procedures and systems to prevent stock variances, damages, and shortages; prepare necessary documentation, report discrepancies, and maintain proper records.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and basic maintenance standards.
- Perform daily inspections of the warehouse grounds.
- Assist in coordinating and maintaining fleets and equipment.
- Communicate and coordinate with other departments.
- Resolve complex customer and staff issues or disputes professionally.
- Participate in departmental meetings to ensure the team is informed of current issues and tasks, fostering a harmonious work environment.
- Maintain knowledge of company products and procedures.
- Implement activities, processes, or strategies that improve the store's competitive advantage, in consultation with the Management Team.
- Coordinate the training of new employees and ensure ongoing training for current staff.
- Uphold and enforce the company's employee handbook and disciplinary code.
- Work overtime if necessary.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills Requirements
- High school diploma or relevant certification in a related field.
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- High level of customer service skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to delegate tasks effectively.
- Ability to prioritize projects and clearly communicate direction internally and externally.
- Self-motivated and resourceful.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of associates and customers, ranging from entry-level to executive-level positions.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and the capacity to develop positive interdepartmental relationships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.
