Sales Associate – Hardware & Home Centre

As a Sales Associate, you’ll be the face of our store, assisting customers with expert advice on hardware and home improvement products while ensuring the store’s displays are inviting and well-maintained. Duties & Responsibilities

  • Greet and engage every customer with a friendly demeanor, offering personalized assistance to help them find the right products for their needs, ensuring that each customer receives exceptional service.
  • Drive sales by proactively suggesting complementary products and sharing your expertise to inspire customers and increase sales.
  • Actively promote store-wide promotions, the GWP Rewards loyalty program, and seasonal deals to boost customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Stay up-to-date with product features and applications to guide customers through their purchasing decisions confidently.
  • Collaborate with your team to maintain an organized, visually appealing store layout and manage stock efficiently.
  • Act as a liaison between customers and management to ensure satisfaction and resolve any concerns.
  • Assist with receiving, stocking, and replenishing merchandise, ensuring accurate pricing and efficient shelf organization.
  • Ensure smooth transactions at the checkout, process payments, and assist in the preparation of customer orders for delivery or pick-up.
  • Be willing and available to work overtime when needed to meet business demands.

Qualification & Skills

  • Minimum 5 CSEC passes, with an emphasis on subjects relevant to retail or customer service (e.g., English, Mathematics).
  • At least one year experience in sales or customer service, preferably in a retail or hardware setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a high level of customer service and the ability to build rapport quickly.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
  • Previous experience in a hardware, home improvement, or construction-related environment is a significant asset.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and grow with the company.
